Mumbai (Maharashtra, India): Kajaria Tiles – India’s largest ceramic and vitrified tile manufacturer – announced today that they will be becoming the Principal and Front jersey sponsors for the Royal Challengers Bangalore Women’s team.

Smriti Mandhana is one of the most well-known women cricketers in India. She has been appointed captain of the RCB Franchise. Richa Ghosh, Renuka Sing, Sophie Devine and Ellyse Perry will be leading a team that aims to win the inaugural Women’s, Premier League. It starts in Mumbai on March 4th.

Kajaria has been associated for a while with Indian cricket, most recently as the title sponsor for the Zimbabwe Tour. Royal Challengers Bangalore is one of the most well-known sporting teams worldwide, with 55.1 million Instagram interactions in January 2023 alone. To ensure they are a winning team in the Women’s Premier League, they will draw on their decades of experience in the Men’s T20 League.

The Women’s Premier League was officially announced at the end of 2022. This follows the announcement of the successful franchise bids earlier in the year. With 22 matches being played across two venues in Mumbai, the finals are scheduled for the 26th of March. 

The Women’s Premier League is expected to attract a large audience. Streaming will be free, and the BCCI will promote Women’s cricket by providing free access for women to the games.

Their bid was 901 crores. The auction saw RCB purchase Smriti Mandhana, an Indian opener (INR 3.40 CR), which was also the most expensive bid at WPL and among all other women’s cricket leagues around the world.
